Discuss seasons. Focus on fall. Predict what we will find outside. Define lobe, gall and sap. Discuss potential animal signs. Outside students check-off the fall clues they find. Students draw a fallen leaf and something that has been eaten. They answer the corresponding questions. Wrap-up: findings, answers to questions, winter predictions, etc.

Discuss senses and seasons. Focus on touch. Discuss garden safety, respect and care. Students explore the gardens outside with their hands and draw findings. Wrap-up: predict seasonal differences.

Collect fallen leaves in the schoolyard and sort the leaves into groups of your choice (ie: colour, type, etc). Draw one leaf from each of your groups. Can you see a pattern on your leaf? Include the pattern on your drawings. Wrap up: Everyone shares their favorite leaf or another thing that could be sorted in the schoolyard.
